Create Custom Stencils

Custom stencils are easy and inexpensive to make.

There are many different styles of stencils available. In many cases, you can find the image that you want. However, there are some images that you can't find in the stencil selection of your favorite craft store. When this is the case, make your own custom stencil. Making a custom stencil doesn't take a lot of time or effort, and can be less expensive than purchasing a pre made stencil. All you need is a few supplies and your desired spray paint stencils image.

Instructions:

1.Decide on an image for your custom stencil. Enlarge or reduce the image as desired on a copy machine or computer. Print a copy of the image on a sheet of paper.

2.Attach the printed image to the back of a stencil sheet with masking tape. Stencil sheet can be purchased at your local craft store and should be clear plastic thin enough to cut with a knife.

3.Place the stencil sheet on top of a cutting board. Tape it in place with masking tape. Cut out the image from the stencil sheet with the knife. Work slowly and carefully. Cut out the entire image.

4.Remove the stencil sheet and printed image paper from the cutting board. Remove the tape and the paper from the stencil sheet. Check the stencil for any hanging pieces of plastic. Remove them.

5.Use your custom stencils as desired.
